Prof Dlodlo holds the position of Associate Professor and Head of Department: Marketing, Retail Business & Sport Management at the Vaal University of Technology. She is a visionary leader with a passion for Marketing and Retailing education and empowering the next generation of black, female Marketing professionals. Her exposure to the academic and research environment has helped develop competencies in the implementation of research projects in various sub-disciplines of online fashion retailing and online consumer behaviour. Prof Dlodlo received grant funding via the NRF as well as the South African Swedish Universities Forum to conduct research on digital fashion store haptics and their influence on consumer haptics. She has and continues to actively participate in the supervision of Masters and Doctoral projects. Prof Dlodlo is inspired by deliberate advocacy work with a conjecture for using a Pan-African approach to shape the direction of the African Higher education sector. She actively mentors and supports female colleagues from other institutions, under the auspices of the HERS-SA mentorship academy.
