Barnabas Masekwameng is a Chartered CIO (SA) professional with over 22 years of extensive experience in Information technology, strategy consulting, and corporate. He has designed and delivered key work streams on several projects. Since the beginning of his career, he has been exposed to both business and technical engagements, liaising and conducting presentations at top executive, middle, and lower levels.
One of his key strengths, amongst others, is leading, directing, and managing the formation of IT Governance structures; he leverages key strong team dynamics principles and approaches to build solid delivery teams and mindsets.
He is a humble and motivated individual with a proven ability to successfully direct and manage transformational programs, formulate of ICT strategies, conduct business analysis & requirements gathering, leading the Corporate Centre IT Divisions with multiple disciplines focusing on driving the Applications Management (Corporate SAP Centre of Excellence), implementing executive Business Intelligence solutions, leading the Application integration & quality assurance team as well as the Group IT Operations Team.
Barnabas has also led, guided, and directed the IDT Business Technology and Systems, Corporate Communication, Human Resources, and Legal functions, where his key responsibility was to ensure the successful execution of the IDT organisational design process (turnaround/restructuring), which was aimed at repositioning and optimising the organisation to increase its profitability and efficiency levels.
At W&RSETA, he has led a team that optimised the Operational Business Processes. Recently, he has concurrently directed and led the successful implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations on-premises ERP system within a period of 10 months, as well as the implementation of the W&RSETA operational system, which is currently operational.
In early 2024, Barnabas was appointed an independent member of the ICT steering committee of the South African Council for the Projects and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP). He is also a member of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies—Digital Skills Forum Cluster Committee.
