Richard Kuppan is a well-seasoned human resource management practitioner, whose expertise lies predominantly in the learning and development sphere.
He holds qualifications in areas of business management, bakery and confectionery, facilitation, assessing and moderating, skills development facilitation, theology, and retail operations consulting. He has amassed about 23 years of experience in training and development, predominantly within the bakery and retail space. He has serves as a member of the South African Chamber of Baking Training Committee for 3 years, to date, and is currently active in the QCTO Committee’s realignment of the Bakery, Confectionary and Fresh Meat Processing Qualifications.
He functions as the National Training Manager for Chipkins Puratos, since joining the organisation in 2017. Through this role, Richard Kuppan maintains and extends Chipkins Puratos’ SETA accreditation, manages internal and external training projects, manages assessment and moderation processes, skills development, and compliance; and oversees the training department’s quality management system. In light of this, he is credited with Puratos’ 2021 Global Silver ‘Out the Box’ award for the graduate placement programme he runs.
Richard Kuppan was instrumental in the establishment, launch and operation of the Tembisa Bakery School- a first of its kind in South Africa. He has served as a board member of Bakery School South Africa for 3 years to date and is credited with the Puratos 2021 Global Gold award for Bakery School community involvement.
Moreover, Richard Kuppan has been an external moderator for FoodBev SETA for 3 years, to date. He has not only been functioning as an Executive Director GD & RD Services & Procurements but is also currently pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration, holds a BCom Honours Degree in Human Resources and Advanced Diploma in Business Management with MANCOSA.
